It’s Been How Long?
My oh my how fast time flies anymore! I remember when I was a kid the days lasted so long and a month seemed like an eternity!
I would really like to express my sincerest heartfelt thanks to all the support and words of compassion that I received over a certain somebody’s comment. Thank you so much ladies! I am so very lucky to have to all of you in my life!
So, I think in order to update my blog with the happenings of almost the last month, I’m going to borrow what Annette did last month on her blog.
- Valentine’s Day: We didn’t get to go to dinner as a couple as Jackie and Ally had a church activity that evening to introduce the girls that were going to be entering Young Women’s this year. Seems weird that my Ally is going to be old enough this year to do that. We had a very nice evening though. The girls were thrilled with their gifts. I know, I was shallow, and went out and bought gifts from Eric and myself for them.
We gave Jackie an Opal heart necklace, Ally a ruby heart necklace and matching earrings (remember these earrings for a little bit later) and Erica a Dora sports set (super soft baseball, bat, glove, soccer ball and football). They were ecstatic to say the least.

- We did end up with an unexpected item though for Valentine’s Day though. Erica and Eric were playing with the Dora bat and ball and my seriously accident prone daughter ran right smack into the edge of our door. It was scary to say the least. We couldn’t tell if she hurt her actual eyeball or just the edge along the bone. She hit hard enough that it actually split her skin fairly deep. Thank goodness Eric knows what to do in those times. We were worried enough about it though that she didn’t go to her dance make-up class or her Art Class the next morning. And then within just a few short days it turned into quite the shiner! Here is a picture the day after it’s worst:

- I have gotten a ton of scrapbooking done! For the past several months I’ve been just putting together page packets that I knew I had pictures for or would have pictures for whenever I got together with friends to scrapbook. So two weekends ago I got all my pictures developed for layouts from October on and after two days of non stop cropping I got them on all my layouts! So with the exception of journaling on a few of them, I am back to being caught up! Yay! Now to start using up some of this stuff in my scraproom that I’ve been collecting. I’m trying really hard to not buy anymore patterned paper. That plan came to a screeching halt when I went into a new scrapbook store the other day. But at least I bought paper for layouts I know I’ll be putting together in the very near future.
- While Eric was gone on a business trip the weekend after Valentine’s Day he called me and asked me to have Ally not call him so much. He was in the middle of a big event and getting ready to speak. So I called Ally upstairs and she informed me that she couldn’t get her other earring out of her ear. Remember, I told you to remember those Valentine’s earrings of hers. So I sit her down and look. It’s a little crusty back there, and didn’t see the back, so figured she got that off already. So I soak each side in Hydrogen Peroxide. And still couldn’t get it out of her ear. So I clean in deeper in the hole and I just barely catch a glimpse of her back inside of her ear lobe!!! Of course I instantly grew whiter than a sheet and dizzy. So thinking as quickly and as clearly as I can I send Ally out to the van to grab the tweezers while I call Eric and fill him in on the situation. With him talking me through it, I was able to pull the back of her ear open wide enough to pop the backing out and get the earring out! It was crazy!
- We have had an invasion of sorts in our house too. We have a one year warranty on everything in the house from the builder. We had several tiles that cracked throughout the main floor. And there was other little stuff like Eric’s office still needing the office doors hung, a few screw there, some work on the counter top in the kitchen, etc. So Thursday they began work on everything and have been working from 8:30 in the morning until 5:00pm everyday since with the exception of Sunday. I think we might be pretty close to being done today! The entire upper level is covered in an extremely thick layer of dust. But it will be all worth it when everything is done. I was sad though I had to tell the housekeepers they couldn’t do their weekly cleaning this week though. I just love walking in the house on Mondays after running errands and everything is magically clean!
- Okay, so I posted back almost a couple months ago that I went back to Weight Watchers. I just keep forgetting to post about my weekly weigh ins. They have gone quite well! I have had a loss every single week, and as of this last Thursday I have lost 19.6 pounds! I am so excited! My clothes fit me better. Clothes that were getting too tight at the end of the summer fit great! I am very happy with myself, if I may say so. I have 15 pounds to go until I hit my 10% goal and then Eric will reward me with $500! Hmmm… wondering if I should use that for buying new clothes or new scrapbooking toys!
And I will get the same reward for each 50 pound milestone until I hit my ultimate goal weight. And I am in no way posting what that amount is, as it would be way too shallow of me to do so.
But it is extremely generous. But when you think about what we will be saving on medical insurance or if I were to have surgery, it’s pretty fair. Not to mention how much longer I will live as a result!
I think that brings us pretty current now. Lots of exciting stuff coming up in the near future. Life is good. And we are all healthy and happy. And really when it comes down to it, that is really all that matters.
