So Much To Tell…
now that I’m back in Blogland!
My most exciting news is that Eric announced to me yesterday that we are leaving March 16th on a three day cruise from LA to Ensenada Mexico! This will be my first cruise ever and is a big time dream come true! I have so many questions running though my head I can’t sit still! And of course I can’t call Eric and ask him any of them because he’s in the middle of a huge meeting in Minneapolis. I guess I’ll just have to wait until tonight…
In the midst of all the Cruise news Eric told me that I needed to have my birth certificate which has been misplaced for years. This of course sent me into a blind panic which resulted in several unanswered phone calls to my Dad. I realized he was my only solution in making sure a certified copy of my birth certificate was in my hot little hands before we left. So finally I gave up and went to bed to have the best nights sleep I’ve had in a long time.
I woke up this morning, got the girls moving and yay! my Dad called me. I told him my dilemma and he offered to go to the court house and get a copy and overnight it to me! So I got off the phone saying, “My Dad just saved my cruise!” Which then resulted in this conversation between me and Erica:
“My Papa?”
“Yes, your Papa Tim. Do you remember him?”
And she said, “Yes, he played hide and seek with me.” This astounded me already because it has been almost 2 years since she last saw him! Then she looks at me and says, “You’re my baby.”
“Yes Erica I’m your baby.”
She then says, “Your not Papa Tim’s baby, you’re my baby.”
I said “Papa Tim is my Dad but yes I’m your baby.”
Then the gears finally start turning in my head. I ask her, “Is Daddy your baby?”
“No”, she says.
“Why isn’t Daddy your baby?”
“Because he’s Grandma and Papa’s baby.”
It dawns on me that my three year old baby girl has been claiming me as her baby for the past 6 months or so because I don’t have a Mom or Dad here with me. So I start crying and she looks at me and asks, “Are you sad that you’re my baby?”
I said, “Of course not, I’m happy that I’m your baby. Sometimes Mommy’s get so happy that they can’t keep it all inside and it just leaks out.”
Which was then rewarded with a big hug. How wise this little girl of mine is.
